Liriano arrived to the Twins in one of the most lop-sided trades in baseball history. The
San Francisco Giants sent Liriano and fellow pitchers Joe Nathan and Boof Bonser for catcher A.J. Pierzynski. A.J. Pierzynski was released by the Giants the following year.
