Tiring of the FCC and a conservative movement to try to stop his type of entertainment, Stern made the a bold and pionnering move decision to take his multi-million dollar act and fanatical fanbase to Sirius Satellite Radio. The very move of radio's most famous personality may be the biggest and most significant development in the history of Satellite Radio.
His move left him with a fraction of his previous audience and, correspondingly, fewer top celebrities appear on his show. Howard Stern, the self-proclaimed King of All Media, has lost his crown.
