Ice Cube has quietly done what few other musicians have been able to do: launch a hugely successful movie career. Although he flies pretty much under the radar, not recognized as one of Hollywood's major movie stars, Ice Cube has consisently led films to fine box-office performances. His talent as an actor has developed even more than his considerable skills with the mic, which led to a pheomenal career with NWA and then solo. Though he receives little credit for it, Ice Cube has proven to be one of the finest artists today.

Despite the very talented Keke Palmer and the likable Ice Cube, this movie was DOA. Director Fred Durst and writer Nick Santora doomed this project when they failed to find something more to do with this plot beyond adhering to every melodramatic, sports movie cliche in the book.
